This year, the summer school of archaeology at the UNESCO World Heritage site in Iža will also welcome classical archaeology students from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.
ARCHAEOLOGICAL SUMMER SCHOOL AT THE UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE
This year, the summer school of archaeology will once again be held at the Roman military camp in Iža, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Frontiers of the Roman Empire – The Danube Limes (Western Segment).”
The event is primarily intended for students of classical archaeology from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.
The archaeological summer school is organised by the Department of Classical Archaeology at Trnava University's Faculty of Arts in Trnava, in collaboration with the Archaeological Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences. It is supported by the International Visegrad Fund. The project's partners are the Danube Region Museum in Komárno and the Municipality of Iža.
